Returning Armada

Isn't this ability just a little too strong? Not only do i get ships which I can't even purchase yet (not gotten in tech tree), but the game pretty much ends when i have it. I remember a time when my bro had 3 planets for every 1 i had and I still utterly destroyed him because of RA. It's power is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Are there any plans on reducing this abilities' strength in the future? Don't say "oh just don't get it then" because I think that Advent's overall fleet is better than Vasari's.

This game is screaming for a novel, like I am screaming for F-Zero Wii. RA is one of such things that it just fit the Vasari's theme so well. I am not so sure about an in-game-campaign, b/c I am having the best time ever by trying to play Sins by fooling everything around.

I have to disagree with you there. RA is just too strong to fit ANY classes' theme. I think that they should push Vasari into becoming more of a "hit and run" faction. Some things about them really make me that that's what they were supposed to be anyway. (Example: A capital ship which has the ability to make other ships move and phase faster, an ability which lets us warp closer to their planets in one of the tech trees.)

P.S. Is there any use for that one ability one of the vasari capital ships have called "espionage" or something? It just sends a team of spies or something to tamper with enemy planets, but is there a point to it when you can just take it over?

Hey, even a hit and run faction has gotta have dreams!

With the nerfing of RA and the Subverters, I'm wondering if it will even make sense to play Vasari anymore at all in 1.1.

Yep! I started playing Advent a few days ago to see how they play. Now I see why everyone uses them.

I don't mind the RA change so much, but I'm not sure how I would survive without Subverters against an equally skilled opponent. I think the "free ships for life" RA model is a bit out of balance.

I do think that RA might not need quite as expensive a research chain. Level 1 RA is not really going to be worth it because of the summoning cost and considering you might not want some of the ships you get anyhow. Level 2 RA will still be a good value. Maybe they can change RA to only have 1 research tier instead of 2? There is already a very large research and infrastructure requirement to implement RA, now that it costs money per "summoning" I don't think it would hurt to cut down on some of the research requirements.

Yes, after all it isn't like everything is bad for the Advent. It seems the Domina is getting a sizeable boost.

Of course, given that the Vasari carrier has that healing cloud ability which does affect their strong (Individually) fighters/bombers it might be that with the increased importance of strike craft that this means vasari could potentially be strong in the strikecraft area.

I don't know for sure though, I guess we'll have to see how things go...

i rather not play as a class dependant on strikecraft

No class is really dependent on strike craft in 1.05 the Vasari carrier heals Strike craft and ships of all classes in the area a lot of people confuse that. 1.1 that may all change as vasari is stiil the only class that can heal strike craft and they will be playing a larger role.
