Problem with install

Error Box Pops up

I bought a DVD copy of Sins, and i have tried to install it. However, before it even starts it pops up an error box, all the box says is "error". i clicked "okay" and then it says: The installation for Sins of a Solar Empire has failed: "Fatal error during Installation". Please check your settings and try again. I have tried a few times, and i have checked my settings and they are all good. Please help me.

It sounds like you still have the demo installed? It's known to pop up the plain "Error" box. Uninstall it first and try again

Yeah, I'm not sure it's the demo. I got the same thing DaGrizzle got, I un-installed the demo, restarted my computer, and it still says the same thing. If people know exactly what to do, please let me know.

You can try registering your cd key in Impulse and downloading the game, which will bypass the Windows installer and should work fine.

Did you actually use the windows uninstall for the demo, or just deleted the folder? The issue is caused by the registry values from the demo, the game installer gets confused if they're already present. Nobody to date reported the "Error" error as being anything other than demo related, so that's pretty odd.

I had the same problem. I uninstalled the demo properly and now I have the full game installed on my system, thanks a lot for your help!
