Game chrashes at startup

Hi, i hope you can help me.

I just bought the game (german version) today, but it alwas chrashes if i start a tutorial or a singleplayer game. sometimes it chrashes earlier, after the intro or just on application startup.

A dialog appears which tells me that a minidump was created. after clicking "ok" the application shuts down and an unexpected-error dialog from ms appears.

my system:

core duo 2400
xp home 32
2 gig ram
nvidia geforce 8600 gt (newest drivers)

the game is updated to version 1.05, the error occurs also with the original version.
i changed the settings to a quite low setting, i reinstalled the game, i rebootet my system, unchecked antialising...

hopefully someone knows a solution :)

thanks, flanc

Make sure all of your device drivers are up-to-date. It's not always just out-dated "video" drivers that cause game/software instability.

Also, are you up-to-date with regard to MS updates? Which service pack are you on?

How do you update the drivers? My game will not start up anymore. After clicking on start game, screen goes black like normal then minimizes down to toolbar and thats it. Clicking on it brings it back to full screen(still black) but after a few moments goes back down to the toolbar. Ihave downloaded the latest version 1.05 I have windows xp and the game ran great with v1.01 thru v1.03 I have uninstalled and reinstalled game(with firewall off) to try to fix it. Any ideas?

Yes as I posted above.

Update all of your hardware device drivers (ie. sound, video card, mainboard chipset, etc.)

You'll need to visit the websites of the hardware manufacturer's in order to find the latest drivers for your hardware.
