As far as I know, it isn't possible. The only tool we have is for converting XSI to mesh. So you'll have to get your Maya work into XSI somehow :P

Export it to wavefront .obj, if you can, that is usualy well supported and holds all useful data. Then load it into XSI to set it up for the final convert.

We can also use 3ds max to export to .mesh

thanks for the help, ive tried both solutions and both work well, if you happen to have both 3ds and maya you can go that rout although the better way is to use the.obj to xsi and then xsi to .mesh. Im only recapping that for anyone else who has a question similar to mine.

Softimage has released a free Mod tool. It is on their website, so no purchase of any software is required to convert the file. Just export the geo out of Maya, and set up the mesh correctly in XSI (locators (nulls, and tangent mapping)
Export the dotxsi out and run it through he mod tool
