I installed Sins yesterday. Installed the 1.05 patch without waiting. The game ran easily then (well, almost - after applying the patch, the launcher went bonanza and it didn't even show up, so I started directly from the sins.exe, but that was not a problem), the framerate was nice, no crashes, on optymalised settings. I played for a while just to check it, so I could give it in on my next time. I exited and shutted down my PC.
After I got to my machine again, I decided I could install some mods, just for kicks. I checked "SolarFlair 1.0" by Zorodius that features new, better textures, and stuff. The installation was copy-paste, the uninstallation too, as the package provided backup files.
I tried to run the game - the screen turned black, after a couple of seconds I heard cutted sounds, probably from the Stardock logo presentation. Then, the game crashed. I mean, I think it crashed, as I returned to Windows, but there was no error message, dialog box or whatever.
I figured it out that maybe the "SolarFlair" is broken. I uninstalled it - same bs. Then, I reinstalled the game - the same. I updated my gfx card's drivers - still nothing.
I had a similar problem with Pro Evolution Soccer 6 - I played it once for a while, after that it refused to cooperate, but in that case there were no mods, improvements or whatever installed by me. Also, I didn't make a damn thing about it, as I considered PES6 crap after the first 30 minutes of playing. But Sins rocked for me, so just what the hell is happening?
