I just ran through the tutorial to try and figure out what it is your getting at, I think your stuck at the point where it tells you to investigate the grayed out new planet. Not the one your at, you don't go to the planets in this game, just to the gravity wells. My suggestion is start over on the tutorial, go slowly and carefully read each instruction when it comes up. Your getting confused because there is alot of info condensed into a short amount of time, and its just not intuitive for you.
