Hud Icon and buildable?

Well, in a mod of mine, I am adding new capital ships..these ships have prerequisites (and a lot of them) plus they are uber expensive, so as to balance out their massive power...The problem is, these ships are currently "unbuildable".  They can be added to the list in the player entity, I've even tried replacing other ones..but nothing seems to work...I think that it has something to do with the Hud icon, or some other icon...I just can't seem to figure it out...

Did you even look at the beta patch notes?

Like at all?

Its limited to max 5 right now, 9 in the patch.

To the actualy problem though, does it show anything on the icon when you replace it?

I just tried adding a Psi battleship instead of a tech one and it worked fine.
I also reconfirmed anything after 5 caps dosn't show up.

I know that, but I mean that when I tried replacing caps with others, it didn't work... I also read that, hence why I tried replacing it..These are also ships I created, so I am trying to figure out why they are not showing up...

So does the icon show up if you replace the battleship or is it just blank? is it a custom icon (i.e. have you tried setting it to a standard one if so?)

Well, what I do is create the new entity file but keep the same hud icon file, and I tried replacing the thing with the carrier (which it is most like) but the thing did not show up in game...it just had the button for the normal one...as in I deleted the line from the player file, but it STILL showed up!! (no its not something with the mods checked that...)

Umm just checking, you didn't copy the carriers hud icons for your ship as well?

could you post the lines in the player file?

Im just having a hard time understanding what actualy happened.

It sounds like you replaced a capital ship (The first post was just a joke btw) and it may or may not have the icon of the thing it replaced. Then when you get in game it dosn't work because the icon is the same.... Im sure if you tried to build it and it was the old ship or if it dosn't build or anything.

Ok, look...when I tried to put it in the game, I replaced it in the player file. When I got in game, the icon for the replaced ship was still there, yes I tried building, but what I got was the old ship, not the new one, even though I deleted it from the player file..

Do you have a new race thats a copy of one of the races and you updated the wrong race (I use to do stuff like all the time )
