Halo(Bungie) Copied off of Starcraft(Blizzard)

Halo(Bungie) Copied off of Starcraft(Blizzard)

im just throwing this out here, cuz no one will believe the truth that bungie copied off of one of the most known gaming companies in the United States. because you can clearly see the what the same in both race and storyline wise

Starcraft           Halo
Marines            UNSC          both are fighting for galatic peace. master chief acts like Jim Raynor
Protoss            Covenent     both are highly religous and made up of different alien races
Zerg                Flood           both leaders names sound very similar OverMind(Starcraft) Gravemind(Halo) and both infect/reanimate corpses as units to fight with
Edit: Xel'Naga (Starcraft) Forerunner(Halo) Both high tech races believed to have created the Zerg/Flood and protoss seek the Xel'Naga as Protoss seek the Forerunner

also, starcraft is an RTS halo was originally going to be an RTS

true, i just think that honorable game companies like bungie wouldn't copy better companies like blizzard but still alls fair in love and war
End of quote

Can companies be honorable? Maybe so, but the only ones I see at the moment (that come to mind) are Stardock and Crytek.

As for Blizzard being "better," it's not. I find Blizzard worse, easily, as I don't find any interest in their games (at all), while I tend to find intense interest in Bungie's. Therefore, Bungie is superior to Blizzard, for me. It varies from person to person.

And copying another company is not a bad thing. At least, if the copying isn't a carbon copy or a small variation of carbon copying. Again, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Bungie did not 'copy' Blizzard, its simply the standard three race formula:
Balanced(usually the player race)-Terran/Humans
Quality-Protoss/Covenant
Quantity-Zerg/Flood
They are simply using the same formula that many other games have used or will use.

As for the Ancients Xel'Naga/Forerunners, sorry but that is a common element of a lot of SciFi/Fantasy and is used as a cheap way of bringing in tech higher than the creators of the universe want to be the norm.

You must have missed the whole Patch 1.3 thing ...

They canceled support to the first game so they could implement it in a new product. Honorable? I don't think so.

While releasing a new game is alright by me, they should not have outright canceled the patch and still claim support.

seriously the archon are a different race
End of quote

Nope; the archons are simply the merged souls of two high (or dark) templar.

Um who cares? I have noticed that the obvious rip off Bungie included in Halo is the Halo itself which I believe certain people fron Bungie have gone on record to admit that the Halo ring world was inspired by the Vavatch Orbital from the brilliant 1987 scifi novel 'Consider Phlebas' by Iain M Banks.

The Terrans are the decedents of convicts forced into colonization efforts because of overpopulation on Earth. The UNSC are just regular sci-fi humans. UNSC is unoriginal, to say the least, but it's not copying straight off SC.

The Protoss aren't made up of different alien races. They're THE Protoss. Protoss aren't even religious if I remember right, they're just extremely proud and want to defend Auir. The Covenant are on a holy crusade to kill the humans, which is very different. Both the races (groups) are very cool in my opinion, and not related at all.

I think Overmind and Gravemind are both variations of Hivemind. Zerg don't infect corpses like the Flood do. They steal genetic material and create evil versions of stuff (much like the tyranids) but they aren't like the Flood.

I will give you that the Xel'naga and Forerunners are pretty much the same thing.

Even if it was a copy, SC takes a lot of art direction and ideas from Warhammer 40,000, so Halo isn't the first offender. On the other hand, both games also have a lot of unique aspects. Saying they're bad because they borrowed from sci-fi is kinda silly.

A. Who honestly gives one, they're both awesome games.

B. What has this got to do with sins?

C. Stop thinking so much and enjoy the games you are given.
