In the game, if the controls of the external ("breakout box") module are used then the game freezes. The cursor (still the in game cursor sprite) is active, though nothing can be selected and Windows (XP) cannot be awaked (for example with the windows key or ctrl-alt-del). A hard boot is required.
It happens with changing the volume level with the external module's dial - and possibly some other things, though I haven't tried as booting up for the sake of a freeze and a hard boot isn't so much fun.
The obivous solution is to not touch the controls of the module - though I discovered it by knocking the box with my knee. Another solution would be to uncouple the box from the system - this would be hassle.
I should mention that I have all the latest drivers for the SB Audigy and the v1.05 patch for SoaSE.
I haven't yet found the bug report channel (where to send bugs) for the game, so I thought I'd register what I have found here. I'm guessing this is the best place for bug reports.
Thanks for reading,
Rog.
P.S.
Could it be a power drain problem? I have a 500W PSU with a fair amount running off it. As I've only just upgraded my CPU and GPU-card the PSU might be having problems. I've already unhooked a secondary HD due to motherboard errors at boot - I've not really investigated it though.
Also the inside is very hot. I probably need more cooling devices now that I've upgraded.
