Problem

My friend and I bought this game today, and we keep trying to join each other's game, but it wont let us and continuously pops up 'Disconnected from Game Server.'  But when we join other poeple's games, it lets us.  Why wont the game connect?  Can anyone help us with this issue?

SINS is P2P, this means you'll need to forward all traffic to the SINS-required ports (TCP 6000 and TCP 6112) from your router's to your PC's IP before it'll work.

I wrote a guide (Networking and SINS) linked-to from my sticky in the "Technical" forum detailing the steps needed to be successful at hosting.

For some reason our clan website is experiencing difficulties so if just telling you which ports to forward isn't enough information for you (you need a copy of my step-by-step guide) please PM me or hit me up on either xfire or MSN (and I'll send you my guide directly)

Also Downloading the optional beta may fix this as well. To get the beta just go to impulse (if you have it if not you need to dl it) click the Stardock logo in the upper left corner and click the enable pre-release version button. This will enable you to activate the beta.

I absolutely recommend you go for the beta version as Thawn716 stated, I've tested the new netcode (Alloy) and posted my findings in this thread.

If however you prefer to run version 1.05, then you will need to forward the traffic as I described. The clan-site through which my guide(s) are being hosted is back up (I am going to be moving them to another website soon so that this doesn't happen again) so the link to the "Networking and SINS" guide under the GREEN writing in the OP of this thread is once again operational.
