Phase jump inhibitor

Hey i am new to the game, can someone tell me if using more than one phase jump inhibitor makes a difference or if there was any way to increase the amount of the inhibitor, right now i am playing a game where i have a planet that is the link to my other worlds and the jump lane to another star i have lots an lots of ship in the gravity well but every now and then two or three ships get by

i beleive they do stack. i have seen the ai use as many as 3 in a grav well. someone please correct me if im wrong.

I don't think they stack. 1400% jump start up would be a bit much.

The reason you see multiple (against a human at least) is because one PJI doesn't cover an entire grav well. You need multiple PJI's to give your entire planet the effect you desired.

it is possible to change the range of the inhibiter if you want to try modding it

I'm in the process of writing a modding 101 guide.

The Jump blockers dont add to each other, but if you put them in strategic places, you can ensure that all jump lines and the areas around them are covered.

You can increase the range of them too.

For enforcing your space or creating a block point, I use 5 hangers with a 6-4 mix of fighters and bombers. And then I will built 20 light carriers with the same mix and station them there. These will stop any recons getting through, and should stop all frigates.

The trick is to have enough firepower at your block point, so that the jump blocker gives them enough time to kill anything that comes through.

If your getting Cruisers jumping in, then you need a decent fleet stationed at the exit point to your planets. Fleets need to intercept, as they are not fast enough to chase. So unless you know the enemies always jump in at a specific point and put your fleet there, put them between the jump line in and the one out you want to protect.

For TEC, I've gone a step further and given the Gauss guns more range and much more grunt. 3 Gauss will now take out a recon before the fighters get to it. :)

I'm building a mod with this stuff in it if anyone is interested. The details as I build it are in the next thread to the modding guide on my forum.

Edit : The range for the jump blocker is universal. You change it for you, but everyone gets the effect. Just remember that when you jump into a planet that has one.

No Phase Inhibitors do not stack. The AI and you as the player have to add more than one PJI if you seek to cover your entire planet's gravity well in the 700% phase jump penalty.

After you build your PJI push the alt key the Purple ring shows its range.

so does the PJI have to be over the phase jump line or the whole outside area i know that ships can phase jump a 45 degree angle so how to i include four phase jump line while not using up too many tactical slots

The range of the PJI is indicated when you place them (I don't recommend auto-placement for them), or by hitting alt. I find that two can cover most any gravwell, one for asteroids.

Yes, manual placement and pay attention to where the covered area is. 2 will cover the whole gravity well, but 3 will ensure all phase lines are properly covered where there is 3 or 4 lines.

With asteriods you only need 1 to cover the well, and 2 to cover everywhere.

but the thing is the only place you can phase jump is outside the well... you need to cover the area outside the well or else the enemy can move further out of the movement area an phase jump normally.
