game doesnt work with flat screen monitor

My game worked fine when i had a regular monitor. But since I upgraded to a Flat screen and now the menu screen goes off the right side of the monitor. Ive changed the resolution and that doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Many of us, including myself run SINS fine on all sorts of flat-panel screens. :)

1. You didn't say whether you simply tried changing the resolution at the desktop-level or whether you tried changing it in-game?

2. Please make sure you're running the latest video drivers for your specific video card.

3. Try running the game in "windowed mode".

4. Try un-installing your "monitor" in the device manager, re-booting and re-detecting your screen.

With the little amount of information provided by yourself, those are my suggestions at this time.

I had a similar sort of problem once with a different game. It might be the refresh settings for the monitor. No idea as to the how's or why's, but adjusting that worked.

I'm not exactly tech savvy though...

Now That's just Silly! I've ported 5 year old games from WIN 98 To WIN XP without a hitch. Across motherboards, CPU's. operating systems and what all!. Check your setup!
RTFM!

As #2 said, this kind of behavior is typically a refresh rate issue. If you can't get enough of the game screen visible to change the refresh rate or get it into windowed mode, you can change the video settings manually in the user.setting file located as at the end of this post.

In the file, you'll want to change the VideoRefreshRate value to 60, and set the width and height lines just below to match your new desktop resolution. Also, if you had any programs before that override the default refresh rates of games with one you specify (not uncommon for CRT users), you'll want to remove/reset that; those aren't needed on LCDs anyway.
