Corrupt installation file for v 1.05 patch

I've downloaded the 1.05 patch. But when I run the .exe file, I get about 20% through the installation and get an error message that informs me of an I/O error that is caused by a corrupt installation file. I've downloaded the file twice, but the results are the same.

I'm the adminstrator on a WIN XP Pro machine. What's up? Also, should I just try to go to Impulse and just bypass 1.05 and update to 1.1?

Appreciate any and all assistance with this great game.

I'd recommend Impulse. You'll need it to patch beyond 1.05 anyways.

In Impulse, you can go to either 1.05, or the 1.1 Beta (aka 1.09) using the Stardock icon menu and clicking "Show Pre-Release Versions".
