Pirate ships from deep space

Was towards the end of a single player game, (version 1.09, small random map, pirates inactive), when I saw a few pirate ships appearing out of nowhere near the enemy planet and flying to it. There were no planets in the direction they came from.

I would post a few screenshots but I'm not very "Forum Savy" and don't know how.

Also, I thought the problem with the frigate wanting to jump back to the nearest friendly grav well was fixed in 1.09? I've noticed that is still happening.

TEC Insurgency tech. It creates a few random TEC type ships that appear at enemy grav wells and are hostile to everybody.
