New Feature-Moons?

Wouldn't that be neat?

So i was thinking, would that be neat to add moons to the gravity wells of planets.  I'm not talking about every well but some (random).  And i'm also not talking about only one moon.  Some should have 2 or 3 since our own Saturn has 20+.  This would then in turn lead to larger wells for more strategic fleet positioning on both assaults and defenses.  These moons could act as their own entity but contribute to the overall income (resource and credit).  They should be able set up networks with their parent planet to increase production of everything.  This would just add another realistic feature to the game.  And it would also look cool.

Please respond on your thoughts anyone?

Well, no random moons, but I would like some moons in the editor. I now use Asteroids for moons in Galaxy Forge, but real moons would be nicer.

I think there are some mods that do this.

About the random moons, i mean the moons are randomly spawned with the planet or not at all. Maybe i misunderstood what you said. And i don't really like mods but that's cool i guess.

hmm.. would be nice idea and you do all know that some planets as small as pluto about as small as a moon has its own satelite orbiting around them right. how bout moons orbiting around the planets.

having the moons orbiting would look cool but it may cut down on functionality. meaning you can't build sturctures in its path or stuff like that. it would be like a moving shield and could be a bit annoying. probably having them in fixed positions would be better. but who knows maybe they could work something out!!

Maybe a moon circling around the planet just outside the gravity well.

yeah and maybe another in it that is colonizable but is tied to the planet. one that gives you stuff and another that is useless. or none at all or one of each or any other combos

Moons would be great. Maybe you could have some moon based defenses for the planet, or improvements for resources and/or ships.

yeah that'd be cool, moon specific abilities/artifacts or something. or even convert moons to specialize in economy (research or resources) or into a military base that could help secure the frontier... ?

wow, imagine a moon that takes care of building megalith specialized Heavy Dreadnaught Cuizer that is about ten times bigger than an ordinary capital ship. then have few built in air strip on the moons surface replacing and/or supporting hangar defense orbiting the hw planets.

in real life, a capital ship in same scale as in real world size would still take a while to reach the moon on impulse speed if you put the ship just near outside the ozone layer of a planet as the starting point A to B. so..., a capital ship would still be a lot smaller like a tiny spec of dust compared to a moon. thats a lot of room between the planet and the moon distant wise. lots of stactics could be use if a moon was to be placed and have the size of planets be resized on sins world.
