After closing game and standbying comp, monitor will not turn on

My monitor will not turn on at all, it just stays black. Not even turned on and black tho, it's off off. Rebooting doesn't help either, the screen stays black, I don't even see POST. It's like it force the mobo to jump the signal to the external monitor output, but I can't test that because it uses a digital output.

Laptop? If you hook up a monitor to that output (Can you?), do you see anything?

Doesn't sound like an issue with Sins to me...

It's something Sins is doing that is adjusting my settings. Considering that it's worked fine for a year and then all of a sudden this starts happening the first standby after I install?

Also, my output is a digital output (white plug) because that was the future of monitor technology at the time. In other words, I don't have a monitor that uses the right cable.

Laptop?

And, of course, make sure all your drivers are up to date.

how close are the spes. of your laptop to what sins requires? ok it probably has no effect but its good to have all bases coverd, try thinknig about it logically to find where the error occured. looking at those would be a start though...

Laptop, yes. And I updated my drivers 2 weeks ago.

My vid card is pretty close, it's a 6800 GeForce, but I can run the graphics maxed no problem.

Got someone's monitor and cables and tried to get a picture on the external output, but nothing came up there at all either =(

Last time this happened, I just kept turning on and off the laptop until it eventually must have reset it's startup settings.
