Zooming doesn't work.

Hey.

I bought 'Sins' today and have discovered that I can't actually zoom in or out in the game.

The tutorial says to use the mouse wheel, but scrolling using the mouse wheel doesn't seem to do anything. It may be because I'm on a laptop, and so I'm using a touchpad instead of a mouse, but I'm not sure sure how this would cause this problem.

Are there any zooming controls you can bind in the options? I know there are 3 preset zoom levels Z,X,C (selection view, star system view, galaxy view if memory serves).

Oh, good, it worked.

I've looked through the options and I don't seem to be able to change the controls for anything. If I can't get the mouse wheel to work I'll have to use the preset zoom levels.

Apparently, the 'v' and 'b' keys are used to zoom in and out without needing the mouse wheel.

I think the defaults for zooming in/out are v and b.

Also, caps lock has a 3 position zoom. Lane view, gravity well view and close in planet view. Saves on some zooming.

Unfortunately on trackpads the scrolling function is often provided by a TSR rather than in hardware, which can lead to issues like this. The V/B keys and Z/X/C presets should get the job done though if you don't have an actual mouse to use.

I never use the trackpad on my notebook.

I use a wireless mouse and k/b. Its rare I'm ever in a place where I cant use a mouse.

Personally, I'd never attempt to play a game like this without a mouse with wheel.
