Is there any way to modify the starting abilities points for your race? Instead of 10 how bout 100 or 500?

Copy the RaceConfig.xml file to a mods directory and edit it with a plain 'ol text editor. Set the number in the ability points section to whatever you like. Then select "use mods" in the options menu and set the path to your mods directory. GC2 will use the new race config file or any other modified file from the data directory contained in that location. There's tons of stuff you can change.

Thanks i never knew it would be that easy. I gald Stardock made Galciv 2 so modable. Will i have to make a mod folder for Dark Avatar and Twilight?

The files are unique for the game version so each needs its own mods directory. Typically, you would use the default which is;

C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\Default

for Dark Avatar and

C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\Mods\Default

for Twilight of the Arnor.

That way, you can simply check "use default" in the options menu when specifying the path to the mods directory.
