I like the vasari. I like the enforcers best out of the heavy crusers (look wise).  The advent have all the cool lazers but the tec lrm looks pretty cool.  Watching the lrm missles is just as good as the illum light show. I personally think the lrm looks kind of like space-helicopter gunship. 

The KOL and the Sova Carrier are the other two TEC ships I like (as far as looks go).

Advent the radiance I like the look of. 

I like the Vasari space egg, the darth vadar style ship, and the other 3.  I think they look cool but are to much a like I get confused.

Strike craft goes to vasari.

Planet bombers goes to advent and vasari.

And the rest of them i don't care enoght to write about.

it would be nice to have small upgrades that increased the kinds and numbers of ships for our fleets. I mean without waiting for an expansion, perhaps in the micro expansions they are doing they are including the new ships? this way ongoing the kinds of ships and tactics would increase, making the game different to play each time a new expansion is released.

Vasari, because I hate humans.

However, the mobile starbases in Entrenchment might change my mind about the TEC.

Im all for the Advent. I like the look of their ships, the lazers, and ship designs. Im also more of a shield person anywho. I generally run away when im down to hull (I know, im crazy), and the Advent have higher sheilds, which is better for me.

But I have to give props to the Vasari. They are using 10000 year old ships, and they still kick ass. Way to go.

..which is more appealing than laser-obsessed psionic hippies out to get vengeance or industrial tycoons flying armed space junk who are still somehow capable of equalling factions that should be much more advanced than they are.

That made me lol really hard.

In that case, the TEC deserves a kudos too. Their ships use effectively 1000 year old technology, since they hadn't even had an armed conflict(apart from pirate nuisance) until the Vasari arrived 10 years ago.

And yet, a ship like the Kodiak - a mining barge with a crap-load of armor and a cannon bolted on - is almost as strong as the Destra - the fruit of 1000 years of research and development by a society whose ultimate goal was to exact vengeance on the people who exiled their ancestors.(whew, what a mouthful)

How is this so? Three reasons:

1. It's just a game.

2. It's a plot device used for balancing the factions.

3. The Trade Order folks seem to be practical people. They find that their factories can easily manufacture large flat slabs of alloy with minimal wastage. So they take an existing mining ship and bolt on layers of flat, cheap, slab-sided armor, and use a big but simple "Bang! Yer dead!" gun that shoots bullets also made of cheap metal.

While the Advent laboriously forge on trying to develop stronger energy-shield generators and plasma weapons, and psionic abilities, and all the other blah blah blah. Then they design their ships with style as a criteria, thinking that the enemy won't shoot them because they're so pretty.

Net result: The TEC could do in 10 years where it took the Advent 1000 years. Hats off to 'em, but it probably wouldn't have happened without the Vasari having come along and made them get off their rich capitalist butts and work for their survival.

The advent. Love their music, beautiful light show weaponry, elegant designs; the Advent Radiance Bship & Halycon Carrier are easily the hottest ships in the game.

Early game they might be a tad hard to play, but a full advent fleet has an DPS that simply cannot be matched. I have slaughtered fleets multiple times the size of mine in multiplayer games using advent (ofc, a 'bowling ball' of guardians to reduce enemy formation and keep nasty Vasari stun-ships away while my luminators show everyone the light)

And the ridculous ability of |malice + cleansing brilliance + guidance| or the |energy aura+all advent weaponry| or |animosity + shield regen + guardian shield thingy+ Vengeance| simply slaughters enemy fleets beautifully and with style.

Late game a TEC fleet or vasari fleet is not even close to matching a well built and well controlled advent fleet.

I like their unique style, their ships and their Opera kind of music

Their race is like a marriage of Magic and Technology

I think my favorite is the advent, the tec would come in a very close second. the ships and the music, the voice overs i think and the way the various ships flow into a nice battle formation. I know very little about tactics or strategy planning, but the ships fit well together and their skills play off one another well. I don't have to co-ordinate them or figure out how to set them up or pair them, the ships seem to do this all by themselves.

I suppose a Tec fleet and a Vasari fleet do the same things, but the concentration seems to be in other areas, or perhaps i am misunderstanding. The Vasari seem overly aggressive, i mean as a trait, and so that is good for an aggressive player, but i find myself constantly pulling my ships back when i play them. The Tec on the other hand, seem to be slower to connect or to form a pattern. Hmmmm... maybe this is all imaginary in my head. I like the advent, I guess i somehow i feel i understand that they fit well and act out well.

I don't get this feeling with the others, maybe i have played the advent too long and they are familiar and the others are not... haha, could be that. Anyway, the underdog is always my favorite.
