Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

the game of september

Played the demo on my 360 probably 20 times now. I almost wet myself when it was released on the marketplace.   I've been waiting for this game for a long time indeed. Hopefully there's no delays on the September 16th release date.

Are there any other Star Wars fans out there who share my enthusiasm about TFU? I'd love to hear your views.

my best friend is a big fan of star wars. I played the demo at his 360 and it's soo awesome :)
Even tho I'm not that much of a star wars fan this game just rocks

it's so funny to bent the metal and see the fighterships (Tiefighters? I don't know what they're called sorry o_O ) crash into it

Yeah they use a tech called Digital Molecular Matter. It's like a real-time simulator of destruction.

I enjoyed the demo, but didn't play it 20 times :P I'm looking forward to it }:)

I'm still ticked that it's not coming to the PC 'cause I've got nothing that can run the physics systems.

Anyways, how was the demo? Anything specifically good or bad?

The ability to fling around crates, bodies, so on so forth with force grip/push is kinda fun. The bad part is that in the demo level there are so many crates, that when you're fighting around them and try to lock onto an enemy, you sometimes lock on crates instead. Minor annoyance :

The bad.. I dunno, the demo was pretty short. It didn't seem to look as "sharp" as in the screenshots, but the environment itself (the traditional SW 'gray' Imperial) wasn't all that fascinating. And I have my 360 hooked up to an HDTV with HDMI, so I don't think it's my tv :P Then again, I can be imagining it.

The visual aspect of the game is top class. Some of the best today's gaming has got to offer. Most objects were anti-aliased and those that weren't you hardly saw anyway. The cutscenes were acted out by the actors behind the game with motion-capture so that is why they look cinema quality. The gameplay animations (or real-time visual simulations, in some cases) are nice and polished too. Everything is in focus, which is good and bad in some ways.

I'm just amazed how they are going to fit the whole game on a single Xbox 360 DVD. PS3's blurays don't have an issue, of coarse.

My brother has a 360 and so I got to see the demo when I visited him yesterday.

The force speed power or whatever it's called... it sounds like it's powered by his rear...

The whole game seems iffy to me. While I have great respect for the company that made the engine the game will be using, I don't have much respect for Lucas Anything. By the way, the engine is called the Euphoria Engine, and it's the same one that GTA:IV uses.

Euphoria controls the AI, yes, but it's not the whole game. The main engine contains Havok, Euphoria and DMM all in one plus something to control the game itself. One of the challenges they encountered apparently was using all of these technologies together.

DMM is now exclusive to LucasArts and I think it was smart of them to pounce on such a great tech that will no doubt have feasible applications in future games.

By the way does anyone know of some information on how console games are stored on their disks?

I played through it a few times (I just downloaded it about an hour ago). The only thing I don't like is that you can't chop people up. Star Wars deserves a realiztic M rated game (like lightsabers are supposed to), Also that AT-ST pwnd me the first two tries (playing when I'm uber tired and have a cold doesn't help :w00t: )

I just bought the game two days ago and I was satisfied!  It took me only eight hours and five minutes to beat it though... Not including the holocrons in the game of course. I just wish the lightsaber did some actual hacking and severing of limbs.

Sorry to resurect an old thread but Ive just finished this game (after the mess of getting a replacement 360) on sith master difficulty and I was completely bemused how people on loads of forums can say that the boss fights are hard :\ . Literally all you have to do against every boss except the bull rancor is just use mundane lightsabre attacks. As easy as this makes the boss fights it just sot of leaves you with a shallow sense of vicotory that you can beat the supposed ''lord of the sith'' by pressing the same button over and over again for 5 minutes without suffering hardly anything back in return  XO .Anyway thats that out the way.
