new ideas for sins of a solar empire update

I think that thay should make some planets biger than others and some smaller.

Also on big planet, they have more gravity so population groth should be slower but the planet has more room for more people, but on smaller planets they have less gravity so population groth should be faster but the planet is smaller so less people.

And, u could make research, that has something like antygravity, and orbitill structurs for smaller planets.

I lack the brane power to do so, so thats the reson i posted this.

ps: if it is not too much, and if u make this, plese put:           idea by:Bla303

thancks :P

My original text didnt show up here for some reason, but it looks like it was here just colored the same color as the backround odd...

Actually the high and low gravity part of your idea already exists in game, there are files for High and Low gravity and the effect they have on the game

PlanetBonusHighGravity.entity

and

PlanetBonusLowGravity.entity

Right now all they do is reduce the gravity well radius however the files exist in game and with a simple edit to the files you could increase or decrease the Population growth:

floatBonus:PopulationGrowthPerc 0.000000

You can, in the same file also affect the amount of people on the planet with this:

floatBonus:AdditivePopulation 0.000000

I must be dumb as I fail to see how gravity affects the population growth speed?

I can see how it MAY affect population growth such that high gravity = short, strong, stocky population and low gravity has tall, slender people, but how does that relate to how quickly the population changes???

He didn't say gravity was the factor for the increase/decrease in population, he said a larger planet would support more people and that planet would also tend to be higher in gravity and by contrast a smaller planet would support less population and be lower in gravity.

Editing the files above could be a temporary solution though, as the randomness of the scripts would mean that even though the planet wouldn’t LOOK bigger it would infect have the properties of a larger planet (more population etc.)

I don’t really know how to change planet sizes (new meshes/textures I would guess) and if you did manage to make larger/smalle planet meshes they would somehow have to be added somehow to the scripts so that they only apply on the randomly picked planets that get the High or Low gravity applied to them.
