HELP Making shields bigger to go round bigger models

NEED HELP!!!!

Im trying to mod the mod lol stargate ancients just a few tweaks here and there to my liking but the one thing that really annoys me is the shields around the bigger models. The enemys weapons looks as though its hitting the hull not the shields its as though graphically they dont exist ive tried putting shields from other ships that are bigger round it, its still too small is there anyone that knows how to make shields bigger or has a ready made shield that would fit. Any help would be really appciated as im a total noob at modding.

Also is there anyway you can change the colour of the shields

Thanks in advance

You change the colour of shields in the player .entity file. But you also need to increase their visibility... there's a nifty tutorial I posted a while ago on how to do that, just search around this forum.

As for the shields themselves, they are also a mesh. This means you have to create a bigger shield model in your favourite 3D modelling package and import it into Sins. If you want shields which follow the outline of your ship, you will have to use a low poly version of the ship model and resize/edit it so that it fits the general shape of the ship. Afraid there's no easy way around it unfortunately.

You could ask Danman of the 7 Deadly Sins mod, I think they've been juggling models all over the place. :) Other than that it could be difficult getting the shields to look as you want them... you could, perhaps, ask someone with some extra time to compile you a set of spherical or ovoid shield envelopes which you could then use.

Or just get the XSI modder's tool and make a set yourself. It really isn't that complicated since you don't have to texture the models or anything.
