Finaly, Epic Battles of the Game

I recently Had the most Epic Battle Yet

Ok, I just played a three-and-a-half hour game of SoaSE. Three versus Three in a Random Large Multi System. It gets to the point where I have around 21 planets, my Advent ally with 17 and my Vasari with 19. The enemy team, all together (we estimated from recent atacks) had only around 7 planets.

We all create Assault Fleets (Each containing 6-9 caps and at least 100 other ships) which was jsut under half our ship armada. We attack the very last enemy planet, where the remains of all the fleets were waiting for the inevitable attack.

I had two Kols, an Akkan, Two Marzas, a Dunov and a Sova. My Advent ally (who had only 6 caps in his fleet) was three Radiances, one Halcyon, one Revelation and one Rapture.

My Vasari friend (who had nine caps) had two Kortuls, a two Space Eggs, two Skirantas, one Antorak Marauder and two Vulkoras Desolators.

We estimated (from all caps we encuontered earlier) were

Enemy 1: One Radiance, one Progenitor

Enemy 2: Two Radiances, one Revelation

Enemy 3: One Kol, One Sova

We seriously outnumbered them four to one in this battle.

We all arrived at the planet. We knew it was the final fight. Hunting the Hunted (more advents on the other team).

We had all agreed with objectives to each other. My objective was to take down enemy frigates and cruisers, my Advent Ally was to destroy any Caps and insignificant structures (Factories, Labs, etc:.) while my Vasari ally destroyed important structures (tactical structures, Nova/Deliverance weapons)

I moved in to the east side of the planet and annihilated the Sova, along with several Illums and LRM's with Kodiak Escort. My Advent ally destroyed two Radiances (one each enemy player) and annihilated all minor structures.

My Vasari ally destroyed a nearby Nova (which was finished just seconds before we attacked). We pondered it, because while the remains of their fleets fought desperately to fend off our fleets, they could've used it against a couple of our planets (the final battle was just under twenty minutes).

In the end, we prevailed from the counter-attack with extrmely minimal loses. I lost one LRM, two Cobalts and a Kodiak (I sometimes use them as Meat Shields, lol). The Advent player on my team lost two Illums and a Aeria Drone host. Surprisingly, the Vasari ally only had a badly-damaged Destructor (Vasari Planet Bombers).

So, I want to know two things:

1) Have you ever had battles/games like this one? if so, how long?

2) If you had a number 1 above, how many ships were in your fleet?

Thanks. Truly, the game was real fun :D

I was playing Sins a day or two ago, and I decided to make a Helms Deep Esque situation.

I completly turtled a nearby Terran planet which was guarding my home, and also had 42 slots of Tactical. I loaded 2 Phase Inhibitors, 4 Repair Platforms, a Shield Generator, and 26 Gauss Platforms. I was rushing to build my Cruisers, and I also had Kol and a Dunov guarding, when 3 "Allied" Advents attacked. I had about, 20 Kodiaks versus their 100 or so disciples and their accompying cappie's.

With my ships, I held near the cannons, and blew the feck out of the enemy, who targeted my Kol with it's level 3 Shield, before I wiped out all of their caps, and 3/4s of the diciples, aand then chased them 5 systems away, wiping the floor with 2 of them, and someone wiping the 3rd, (It was a 10-player huge Random map)

A 100 disciples and that was their whole fleet composition, no illuminators, no purge vessels. Not a well balanced fleet, and that what 30 ships per guy.

What other ships did you have or was it just Kodiaks and your caps?

You did well considering number wise in ships you were outnumber around by the sounds of it five to one.

But out of curiousity how long into the game was that?

I had around 20 LRF's (not a spammer) and 40 Cobalts for some light support. I think around 20 or 30 Percherons. It was a well-balanced fleet, even though a little rough around the edges.

And the game was about 3 and a half hours. I stated that in the first sentence :P

It was  24 minutes ingame. I cruiser rushed and those were the only ships I had, since I was using the rest of my money for armor and weapon upgrades.

If your also Curious, One Advent had a Radiance and a Progenitor, while the 2nd one had a Halycon and the third one was also a Radience.

Levels 5, 3, 4, and 6 Respectivly. My Kol (Finest Hour, Level 2 Flak, level 3 Forcefield) was 6 and my Dunov 5. (Level Three Shield Restore and level 2 EMP)

What I did was I rushed out my Caps to soak their fire, then lured them back in to my Gauss Cannon gauntlet and my Kodiaks, while my repair platforms repaired my Kol and my Dunov used it's shield regenerator while the Kol used It's advanced Forcefield, and by the time they were reatreated, the phase inhibitors kept them from running and I smashed some before I went on the attack.
(Also, when I say I "wiping the floor" I didn't take out their planets, just all of their structures.)
