Desert Home
Hey,
I've been playing around with the Galaxy Forge tool, and I'm trying to understand what the difference between a regular Desert planet and the DesertHome planet type is. Any information would be appreciated! Thanks guys ![]()

I believe its the same differance as between tetrran planets and terran hoem planets.
The home planets have a larger population (I THINK, not sure) and/or more logistics slots or something.
Also, if you place a home planet somewhere and dont make it the hoem planet of a player, it becomes ahome planet of those ranom grey guys who are everywhere. And you have to use seige frigates to get it.
I could be wrong since I have only looked at creating maps for a VERY short amount of time, but I thought it had to do with starting location - XXX is a normal planet vs XXXHome is a starting location of type XXX.
It is only a staring location is your select
'home planet true'
Anything colonizable can be a home planet I believe.
even dead asteroids can be set as Home Planets ![]()
now thats just mean ![]()
But funny as hell...
(Unless it's me who starts there!!!)
i think the home planets just have some of their planetary improvements already purchace. like on your home planet you can't explore it, there is only one upgrade for popolation left one upgrade for logistics slots and i beilive 2 upgrades for tactical slots.
i could be wrong but i think that is the differnce because if you create a map in galaxy forge and put a normal terren planet as your home you will have to upgrade it so you won't be losing money
Comparing the .entity files:
Home has 2 of each resource asteroid, regular has one of one kind and two of the other.
Home has three tactical levels instead of four. At full upgrades, they have the same number of slots, and Home has one less constructor.
Home gets a better "home planet tax rate bonus" (The capital planet upgrade) - four instead of three.
No planet bonuses for Home.
