Stopping randomized player start placement. How?

I am trying to build a top v. bottom map, and the players keep getting placed randomly, and not at the planets I have specified in Galaxy Forge.

After looking at several posts, I have tried the following without success:

1. Setting each player's TeamIndex in Galaxy Forge.

2. Choosing locked teams at launch time

3. Item 1 & 2.

None of these seem to be working. X(

I am using Galaxy Forge and SoSE 1.05, and the map is saved in the Galaxy folder under the installation path of the program.

Could I please get some help?

Star/Clad will have to address this properly.

I've tried to work around the problem in much the same way because I wanted a series of maps with "players/Ai" starting at specific points and strengths... to no avail; it's a complete pain in the ass with no mention as being on the list of things Star/Clad plan to address for the SINS Expansion -which royally ticks off many.

You've got the map in the right place btw.  Campaignesque maps should simply be 1 player vs another/AI, then you can lock start locations somewhat... but still no guarantee.  Just keep reloading until you start at the right place  :(

I don't believe this is something they'd address in an expansion. Expansions usually only have new content, and if it fixes anything at all from the original game it would be major interface or gameplay tweaks, not something relatively small like this. This is especially true since Stardock's reason for having 3 mini-expansions is so players can pick and choose with enhancements and features they want, or get none at all.

This will likely just be addressed in a future patch, if it's addressed at all. And judging by the kind of support SoaSE has, I believe it most definitely will be.

Yeah, it does seem odd they havn't fixed it already, its pretty standard feature for an RTS.

Yeah, especially since I'm whining and QQing about this since pretty much beta 4.

Why do they ignore pretty me? :pout:

Not pretty enough.

Put me on the list for complaining about this.  Reloading 7-12 times to get near my friends in an allied game isn't an enjoyable use of time.
