phasejumping

using wormholes and cross-starjumping

Hi.

i am new to this game and forum.

i like the idea that you are not able to jump to distant solarsystems (other stars) as well as through wormholes before you have researched the needed tec. my problem is that even though i have researched long phase jump etc. i still cannot do the jumps. is it a special kind of order you need to give? or how do you utilize these tecs?

im bound to small maps until im told so i look forward to a reply.

ps. am i the only one who miss a campaign? I was deeply dissapointed when i realised that there were none. I was captivated by the prestory and the universe and ready to experience the epical tale of the Trader Emergency Coalition's fight for survival...

The long phase jumps are for travelling between different solar systems (sun to another sun) i think. As for the wolmhole, just manually point your fleet into the wormhole gravity well (can be not very well visible sometimes) and they will jumb by themselves and instantly appear at the other wormhole in the system.

You have to research Wormhole Navigation - it's separate from long range jumps.

As for a star-to-star jump, just set your ship's jump destination as another star. There is no phase lane network equivalent for stars - any star has a link to all other stars. In addition, the star is the only way to get into another system, so they become choke points for interstellar traffic.

you have to go to a star before you can jump to another star, and it should be researched, long range jump are ofcourse take longer to arrive at the destination

when i was still new to this game i had no idea what to do either:grin:
