This app seems to have been put out there half baked, and subsequent releases seem to just be re-compilations with updated core program. The problem is, this thing is only capable of supporting the basic map editing.
Trying to create scenario systems, you cannot even put in in all the buildings to a planet because they aren't listed. The "clear all" button appears to not have even been implemented. Even so, I have been trying to work with this thing, but now I've discovered that the custom templates don't work either!
When you first create the templates they appear to work fine. I created groups, and populated lists. Each template was named something different. Seemed okay, put different templates with different planets (yes the "use default" is off). So I saved it, and left to work on another day.
Opening my map up again, I look at one of my planets and discover that the templates are screwed up. In the listing, there isn't just the few I made last time, no each copy of the template is added to the master list, so if 10 planets had "Def only" template applied to them, now there are 10 items added to the master. So fine, maybe I can live with that.
Later I tried renaming one of the frequently used ones. Low and behold, only a portion of the same templates were changed... The rest still had the old name. I then added another new template, but for some stupid reason, in addition to the new template having the name I just put in, it applied it to other templates, that were completely different. So okay, maybe the names are screwed up, but the content should be ok right?
I try the map, and guess what? It's totally f-ed up with mixed up templates being applied.
Galaxy forge is half baked crap.
