A little map I whipped up a month or so ago. Haven't found any problems in playtesting so far, so releasing as-is. Suggestions welcome.
This map was designed to be a multi-star map suitable for play between two teams, each comprised of 1-4 players (no more than 8 total), in which:
1. All players start in the same system as the rest of their team.
2. At least one neutral system exists, but rapid colonization of it is less essential for victory than is typical.
3. There are difficult-to defend locations in each home system well suited to serve as a beachhead for invading forces
4. There are also natural chokepoints that completely seal off each team's core worlds.
5. There are wormholes and anomalies placed so that a clever opponent may circumvent further defenses after making it past a key chokepoint.
To achieve these somewhat specific goals, the home systems are quite rigid and exact. Therefore, in the interest of keeping the map fresh, the smaller neutral system is heavily randomized and should always be a bit of a surprise.
Additionally, artifacts are slightly more common (from 15% to 20%) to compensate for the overall lower density of colonizable planets, and special planet properties are far more common (from 40% to 80%) because I really can't think of a great reason why nearly every planet shouldn't have a little more character.
