Cle's Micro Mod

Cle's Micro Mod is a small graphic enhancement mod for the Vasari. It changes all 3 Phase Wave weapons with snazzed up textures, and it also changes the colour of 2 beam weapons. The planetary bombardment beam (now purple), and the heavy beam used on the Vasari Battleship (now more green then yellow).

Aside from that i left one of textures out of the mod when i finally settled on using the "glowing" texture for all 3 Phase weapons. The small phase wave texture was my first attempt, but if you would like to use it all you need to do is change its name to one of the 3 used graphics.

You can find it in the weapon textures folder in the texture folder. FF for forward facing (use to replace Phasewave2/3, or use UF for upward facing to replace the small phase wave effect. If you use a texture with the wrong facing it will simply fire sideways :)

Finally i failed to find a way to increase the effect size. To compensate i slowed down the travel rate of all Phase Wave weapons from 3600 to 1800 (50%). It's much easier to see the effects, but it could have negative effects with game play. Simply delete the Gameinfo folder if you wish to keep the travel rate unchanged.

To install simply unzip the file & place the folder in the SOASE mod directory (aka C:\Users\insertname\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods). All work is based off the original SOASE textures.

Do you plan to update the other races beam effects as well? This looks very very cool for the Vasari, but i seldom play them. Of course there are tons of players that do  :)  So if you want this to stay Vasari only then that is great too.

I'm fiddling with PSI stuff at the moment. I'm trying to find out what program people are using to create the texanim files. I've downloaded 5 different apps so far with out luck & the search feature on this forum is... well dense at the best of times.

Release wise i have very little time to do much if any modding at the moment, this was more of a personal thing that i just put out for the hell of it. Future release.... maybe/maybe not. It all comes down to spending more time modding vs's looking for mystery mod tools/plugins & scrolling through crappy forum searches that could not find the Titanic if it was 4 ft away.
