Just a thought, but would having the abilities more sparsely parcelled out make for a more interesting game? I have been thinking of doing this in a mod, just to change things around a bit and see how it feels to play. Normally, because i have rather limited time, i tend to play a single player game over several days. I just thought that having an ability for every two levels of a capital would mean i wouldnt get all of them until level 8. Or to stretch it out to one ability every three levels. That would mean i wouldnt get it until levell 12. But is there a level 12? I thought it maxxed out at 10. At least that is as high as i have been. Just a thought and asking for peoples thoughts on this.
I will try it anyway, regardless, haha, but sometimes i get these silly ideas and they dont pan out.
A week ago i changed the Tec hull and shields up high, and the Advent speed up high and the Vasari weapon damage up high, just to test and see how it played. I played as Advent and was run over. The Tecs became too difficult to beat in a battle because i couldnt stand the battle as long as they, and the Vasari were tremendously more powerful even than they are now, which meant the Tec and the Vasari were more evenly matched and could sustain longer battles. However, because the Tec weapons were normal, the Vasari wound up winning almost all encounters with everyone else. So, this was an interesting, but not workable idea.
This ability per two or three levels may be the same, but just wanted to give it a go and see how it felt in game. The devs have probably been around this ballpark many times and tried all the different scenarios before settling on where they are now, but i'v only been playing about 2 months, haha, so its all new to me.
