Creating ship models

This is just a crazy thought...

But, I am no good at and don't know how to start modeling.

I was wondering if the ship model creation engine in GC2 creates a model that could be utilized

by the Sins engine? Maybe, after created the file could be changed into something Sins could read?

I don't know, thought?

I doubt it, unless GC2 ship makes can save the models in a format readable by the XSI mod tool. Then there is the issue of UV mapping and textures - I doubt GC2 can export all those in a readable, usable format, especially because in GC2 you are dealing with multiple 3D objects all of which have their own mapping and texturing (at least it looks that way to me) and SoaSE models use a single texture.

I will have to download GC2 and give it a play, it sounds interesting.  :)

Thank you,

I'm not that good at modelling either, but the old adage - Practice makes Perfect - does hold true for modelling, as well as doing tutorials from around the web...

I use an app called Milkshape which I have found to be quite easy to get into, the devs and community are quite active and helpful too.
