Is ICO Down ?

Disconnected From Ironclad Online

After I type my password and click "Login" it waits 1-2 seconds and a windows appears  "Disconected From Ironclad Online".

Last time I played 3 days ago I did not have any problems, I ONLY boot vista SPECIFICALLY to play Soase. As soon as I'm done playing i switch back to Ubuntu, so any change in settings is virtually imposoble. but I even turned my only firewall completely off and still could not get in ICO. and I have never used a router my pc is connected directly to the modem witch is directly connected to the internet.

So I'm assuming some of you might have the same problem, if you find a solution please let me know i'm dying to play with update 1.1

Seems to be working fine right now, are you still having trouble?

Yes, after 12 hours of my post i still have the same problem.

Try e-mailing [email protected], maybe they know something - but it should be up and running.

I think you get the "Disconnected from Ironclad Online" message after trying to log on without the new patch (v.1.1), but I am not sure because I can not find a way to get the new patch.

Impulse is loaded with problems.  I can not log on with it, and therefore can not download the new patch.

For the last 2 days, without the patch, I am unable to connect to Ironclad either, which was never a problem with v.1.05

I emailed info@ironcladgames (couldn't find the support address on their website last night) with the same issue.

When I logged in my game resolution was reset, so I fixed that and then went to log into ICO.

It and forgotten my username, so I retyped it and the password and I get Disconnected from ICO error

Version is 1.1 (as per bottom right hand corner). I was hosting games successfully (apart from when my PC's IP changed :) ) in 1.05 fine prior to downloading the patch.

[EDIT] I just sent an email to support address too, in case info doesn't get looked at anytime soon... I linked to this thread

What exactly is the problem???

The really sad thing was that we just filled up the 4v4 and I was about to press start.  If I pressed it just a few seconds sooner, I would be playing right now.

Nope while we were playing our game became totaly unresponcive.

I'm still having no luck connecting....

[EDIT] Turning off my firewall (on my modem) allowed me access... However since I am not going to leave it like that, I am still trying to work out what is being blocked and where...

Where's The Monk when I need him :D

Do these values look like this in your user.setting file?

IcoServerAddress "ico.stardock.com"
IcoServerPort 7000

yes - here are my settings

IcoServerAddress "ico.stardock.com"
IcoServerPort 7000

I was just about to post that it is trying to do something to 38.98.152.153:7000

The port it tries to connect on my machine always changes - but seems to be in the range 57000-59999 give or take.

I have no idea what has changed if anything on my end - all I know is that with firewall off I can get in, which is not something I can really do...

My machine cannot ping that address either (ico.stardock.com)

I have run a netstat -a -o -f - here is the output for the PID Sins is running under

 TCP    192.168.1.2:58506      38.98.152.153:7000     SYN_SENT        772

As I said, the out port keeps changing

[EDIT] After waiting a few minutes and trying again

TCP    192.168.1.2:58567      38.98.152.153:7000     SYN_SENT        772

I understand that it is picking a port on my machine to talk to the 7000 port, but I have no idea why it is being blocked....

You can't change it - the information is for Blair etc...

My computer is trying to connect to them (38.98.152.153) and something is not playing nice...

I and a few other people I know have had a ton of problems with ICO since the 1.1 update. Games are buggier and there have been tons of dropped games and disconnects from ICO. I was even diconnected from ICO and the game kept playing, seriously, things worked great in 1.05 and now half the time I can't even log on to ICO. Is it just because of an increase in players because of the 1.1. update?

I lost connection to ICO while in game under 1.05 a few times. I think it just means you won't get a win/loss recorded for that game...

Still can't work out how to let Sins through my firewall without shutting it off - I have the port forwarded and everything (correctly I think...)

There HAS to be some port or something that is getting blocked that does the ICO thing - but I can't work out why. I assume that the connection is made to port 7000 on my end, so my modem should allow the connection out on any port number to that port...

MONK - I NEED YOU!!!!

OK - I think I fixed it - I had to open port 7000 on my firewall.

Note to Stardock/Ironclad - you might want to update the FAQ online to mention this if this is required

Also, this link doesn't work
