asking for new feature

Okay, so, this isn't really beta feedback, just an idea, a rather shameful idea, but I'll present it anyway.  I think it would be awesome if Entrenchment, or even just a patch really, granted an option to lock-out combat for a period in the begining of each game to allow for fortification.  I want get the Actually HAL I Can Do That achievement, but everytime I try, even with the AI set to Fortifier, I get overrun by at least two capital ship fleets with a dozen or so basic frigates within fifteen minutes and have to retreat to my first few planets.  I try huge multi-star systems, with only 4 AI's, and what do you know, there's two within 3 phase jumps of me. I'm going to create a map to do this in, and set the other home planets on the other end of the bloody galaxy, but I think that feature would be nice anyway.

Yes a lot of RTS games have this option, personally I don't ever use it though although I know a lot of people who like it. Although is it really necessary in a game like sins as usually it is to prevent rushing which isnt really a viable strategy in sins due to the time it takes to get across a galaxy.

two remarks:

1) the distribution, even in huge maps, is deliberately chose bc the devs thought (or at least I heard so I think) that being all alone for a good portion of the map and merely fighting militia and pirates would get boring and dull soon, so they tried to get conflict going fairly early - by placing players together, no matter the size of the rest of the map.

2) for this to work, I'd imagine the ai would need quite a few changes in the starting makeup. like less emphasis on military and military advancements early on and only building up a bit closer to the end of the stalemate. if that is true, this request could bind quite a few resources that could be used for other things as well.

still, even though I don't think I would use it, I can imagine some people would like the option. surely not a bad idea.
