Editing Explore Ability

I am new to modding, and have looked at  creating a new ability based on the scout ability explore. Looking at the entity files i don't see how this is possible. Is explore hard coded, if not how do I do it?. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the double post but I though I should point out that what i want to change is the scouts behaviour during explore, ie attacking buildings and then jumping to the next system.

well personnaly, if I may ask, what would the use of scout attacking buildings?

Its a scout, not a destroyer..he explores not attacks. Anyhow his weapon damage is WAY TO LOW!! And buffing it would unbalance its use/cost ratio!

But as you say from whats written in Explore.entity..it isnt possible for now. But you could take out parts of other abilities and add them to the explore ability to try and add this new element.

You could start from the raze ability and ask it to call Explore whenever you trigger raze...that way you would have a scout that you manually launch at start and that whenever he will find an enemy planet, will call the raze planet ability.

So hell bomb the planet to shreds, but since it also calls Explore as follow-up, the moment your ship is done, hell go back to exploring mode! Now just need to tweak the Raze planet entity and change its constraints from "planet" into planetmodule and VOILA! youve got yourself a BUILDING BOMBING BAST.RD
