Multiplayer LAN loses Sync without crashing...

My friends and I (3 of us) were playing a multiplayer game, and after about 1 hour, the game lost sync-- it still ran, I was still hosting, but each of our games had replaced the other Human players with AI.

I have no idea how it happened. This is, though, the weirdest stable bug I've ever experienced.

Oh, and, we also were playing us vs. AI, 3v3v3, on a custom map, if that helps.

Yep, this was fixed (hopefully) just before the holiday. It hasn't been deployed on Impulse yet, but there is a test build available from the sync bug dev journal if you'd like to try that.

We both updated to 1.12, tried again, and it lost sync again with the same style (this time, cutsom map, five teams of 2.) We saved and loaded, and it somehow preserved the sync loss, like we're both playing separate games and it saved them both. We had the second person's comp save and host it, same issue.

Bummer, eh? Takes about 1 hour to lose sync, sucks like crazy. We're looking into whether or no it could be our wireless network, sinc it appears this issue is only prevalent when it's my computer involved, but it seems my comp causes this issue. I'm using a vanilla SP 2 xp dual boot on mac, if that helps. He's using dual boot xp on mac, as well, but it seems he doesn't have this issue with other people.

same happens to me, is this supposed to be already fixed or is the fix still coming?

Taalatharka: do you get desynched consistently? If so, send an email to [email protected] and describe it to them, let them know you get consistent desynchs and they'll walk you through what settings to change in your user.setting so the game spits out sync logs when it happens. After that, you and your friends can send all your logs to IC so they can see what's causing it.

I also have this problem. There were 2 human players and 3 AI ones and we were playing on a custom map. We're using a crossover cable, so it's not a wireless problem.

I get this problem too.

We had this same issue. Copying the save game file from the host computer and writing over the ones that the other players had resynced it.

Are you running 1.13??? That fixed some sync issues

Very sad to say, we had this happen today (v 2.5), we almost got in a fight arguing over why my friend was letting the AI just overrun his planets, he showed me how the same said planets were alive and healthy on his side.  If we can find where the mini dumps are kept (it finally did do a mini dump on us) we will send them in.

This is an Entrenchment Beta issue then, not an issue with vanilla sins as was the original post. As such the issues are different as you are playing different games. Best bet is to send in the log files to ironclad and post to the Beta Feedback topic

IC fixed another sync bug over the weekend for the next update.

Yup, the dump got sent in (found location thanks to Kit).  We were really dispointed (since we could not reload the game), but, that's beta testing for you (shrug).

Actually, I had my VERY first mini-dump playing single player a couple days ago, but, it is the beta, so expected, it's just that I/we never had any until 2.5.
