Incredible Lag

It's unbelievable

Hello, I am an incredible fan of the game.  Except for one thing...

Unprecedented lag online!  On the order of 3000 ping!  With this machine:

Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 3.0 GHz

2 x ATi 4850 (Crossfire)

4 Gb G.Skill 1066 Ram

Abit x38 Quad GT Mobo

At my university, I have ridiculously low ping on all other multiplayer games: Counterstrike: Source, Left 4 Dead, Unreal Tournament 3, and World in Conflict.  It's a 10 Meg connection, I get extreme speeds at testing sites for both download and upload.  For all intents and purposes, I have infinite speed both ways.

Why, then do I get such incredible lag in Sins?  Is it a port forwarding issue?  If so, is there anything I can do on my end?  All I do is plug my computer straight into the wall; I have no ability to communicate with a router or some such.

Feedback is appreciated.

Are you the host of this game, or not? That kind of changes the perspective. It COULD be that the host has ping issues!!!

I know this is an old post, but I'm having exactly the same problem.  I've also seen a few other people post about the same issue.

I have a good computer (e8400, 4GB ddr2, 8800GTX), and a great (up to 10mbps down 2-3mbps up) internet connection.  I'm located in the US.  I lag too much to play online. My average is around 200-300 and I get spikes of up to several thousand, which eventually kick me out of any game I play.  I have no lag issues whatsoever in singleplayer, except for huge fleet battles, and that lag goes away when i turn the graphics settings down a bit.

I have never had any issues with lagging in online games until sins. COD4, WoW, and OFP all run very smoothly and I average a ping of around 60. This is not an issue with my connection, I have opened all the recommended ports. This is an issue with how ironclad online is dealing with connections.

The bottom line is that I payed $30 for a game that isn't working and with a company that doesn't provide any technical support aside from forums, whose posts it seems to ignore consistently. I'm glad there is no DRM, but the non-functioning multiplayer and complete lack of technical support is pretty pathetic.

Prove me wrong, help me and others experiencing similar problems fix this issue.

Did you email [email protected] ?? After all thats how support works, you contact them. Not they contact you.

[email protected] returns undeliverable. I would love to contact them, if they would bother giving out contact information... Where am I supposed to find their e-mail address?

Well for one it helps if I give out the correct email.:dur:   Its [email protected].

Hey, so, I'm still having issues.  Enabling/Disabling Alloy changes nothing.  I would buy entrenchment, but remaining impossibility of playing online makes the decision easy.

Any ideas?
