Advent Guardian Question

Was thinking about something this morning and I don't remember seeing an answer for it anywhere.  Hoping to test it tonight when I get home but was wondering if anyone knew the answer to save me some time.

So here is a theoretical situation.  You are playing as advent, you have "Ship A" which can be anything really, and then you have 2 Iconus guardians.  The first guardian has its' 33% absorption shield on within the radius of ship A.  Guardian #2 has its' 33% absorption shield on within the radius of guardian #1.

Ship A takes damage from an enemy ship, guardian #1 absorbs 33% of the damage to its shields.  Now... does guardian #2 absorb 33% of the damage that guardian #1 absorbed or does it not chain like that?  If it does, it would seem like guardian #1 would end up absorbing 22.5% of the damage and guardian #2 10.5% of the damage.

Hope the question is stated clear enough.

Thanks!

That's an interesting question.. my gut says it doesn't chain, but there's nothing conclusive by looking at the files since the modifier is just "DamageSharing" so all the calculations are done behind the scenes.

Formula works like this.

The ship that is under guardian shields is reciving 33% damage/guardian.

lets imagine we got 5 guardians. that are shielding a frigate, that is getting 100DP/S

First guardian reduce it by 33% (100x0.67), secon guardian reduce the (100x0.67)x0.67, third ((100x0.67)x0.67)x0.67 and so on...

The real advantage of guardians is that the progenitor will recharge all the 5 guardian shields. So guardians are what makes progenitors worth having more than 1.

Having 3 progns pumping shields for 15 guardians will make your fleet safe for all but phase missiles. For example, TEC stands snow balls chanse in hell getting trought just by pure DPS!

So the damage never goes away, it's just spread out so thin that it can be easily delt with.

Targeting the Guardians directly works slightly better, since its Shield Projection does not affect the Guardian that is casting it.

its always fun to chew trought 1400+ shields :D,also, if you know what you are doing, moving a guardian will cancel the shield, that means more micro, but is doable.
