Berzerker Dominion Challenge

Do you dare pit your robot against others???

Last night my eyes were opened to new possibilities and will no longer close myself to unorthodox possibilities...

After doing so, here's what came up:

The ÜBER Berzerker Dominion Challenge

Everyone makes a single entity with four abilities, starting at it's home planet with no supporting units, taking over the entire galaxy by dispatching all opponents, and/or conquering all planets (resources are irrelevent)...

Anything goes in terms of method of domination of the galaxy, balance is thrown out the window...

The entity should be self-playing, but speed and efficiency are paramount.

Would everyone trust Danman, to be the host of this ÜBER battle? (can only work with a Switzerland modder)

(Such a battle with 9 computer players and a resigned human overseer for an omnipotent view)

-------

Rules should be minimal to deny stalemates, and abilities that freeze the processor too much

Games should be won/lost in 5-10 minutes...

Maybe 1000 Hull, 1000 shields, one standard weapon with 1000 damage, fire rate of 1, and range of ten thousand, just to emphasize ability effectiveness...

...and no messing with the Constants file!

A player should be a new race with one entity, already spawned upon game-start...

cheating should be allowed, but only at the Switzerland Modder's discretion...

Oh, here's how I got the Ümlaut on the Ü's

hold down the ALT key...

Type a number between 145ish and 165ish in the number-pad

and let go of the ALT key...

Sounds interesting, but I can see an ability that instantly causes 1000 damage to the target or someting, or an ability that boosts armor amount by 100s, or something similar that makes your ship uber at the same time it instantly kills the opponent...

All you'd have to do is ONE ability on which you stick 20 different uffs like 99999shield regen per sec, 99999hull regen per sec, PHASE CLOAK (on which you cut out the line that says no moving and no attacking). Thereby making you invinsible, unstoppable!

A boring challenge in perspective wouldnt you say??

We need more rules of engagement and guidelines so ships arent too overlevelled!!

You didn't read the part that says use caution to not make designs that end in stalemates...

Self restraint must be exercised and such a challenge would test one's capacity to play fairly...

One more announcement:

Having spent the fall season away from SINS in anticipation for 1.1 (1.11, I'm installed now :), those days were used in a programming language that has excellent mesh display capabilities built-in...

Recently, I coded a 3D environment that lets me fly around in a continuous galactic cluster, with 250 stars with up to 10 planets each, at 60 FPS on my badly outdated system...

Anyway, it's taking my coding efforts away from porting my SINS code for release, (and I thought it was fair to let you know), as the allure of SINS for me was the unprescedented accessability to a 3D environment, and having that kind of access to 3D within a programming language is irresistible...

I didn't want to worry those waiting for mines, so I waited until the hard-core mine people got access to Entrenchment before this announcement...

(when 1.1 was released, I decided my code shouldn't go to waste, and I thought it would be a good idea to at least finish the mod for the sake of merging... ...but since the developers are done now, I don't have to feel bad about not releasing because their code is surely much better than mine) :)
