Agreed.  It would be great to have a bunch of accessible, non-standard ship models readily available for modding use.

Can you make this avalible to all of us. And if anyone else has the older versions can you share them as well. These would be a great addition to any mod or to the vanilla game itself.

I've requested that they release the old models on impulse for the modders to use. No response yet but we'll see how it goes. Maybe with more support they might do it.... *hint hint*

If memory serves I have have a really old archive of the Beta on a PC that I haven't really used in ages so there is a good chance it will have many of the original mesh files. I'll check later and report back...

Yeah, if you could release all the beta version ships (at least the ones that were different) that would be great.  Why not just post the entire beta archive and then we can pull out what we want from it.

yeahh, i deffinitly remember those days.  i gotta say, i was disapointed when they changed the Kol.  But its grown on me.  I kinda like it now.  And yes, it would be reallly cool if the devs reliesed those moddles.  You gotta nother yes vote here.  For as much as my vote is worth...

I am not posting the whole archive thats a step too far concerning copyright infringement in my view, you'll have to focus on the Devs for that request.

If you have a specific request for a few models I'll help out.

If you just want variants of vanilla ships and buildings you should consider importing them into 3dsMAX to make the changes. I think the old Kol is the only ship worth ressurecting maybe the TEC research station too but the others were all improved for release you're not missing out on much.

Not much has changed? When I look at the old videos there seemed to be quite a few different designs. Maybe those were even before beta.

Are you saying that the mesh files can be converted back to XSI!?!??!?

It is possible yes, what you would need to do is export the mesh out of 3dsmax as the .x format and then import it into XSI, fix the tangents and maps save as an XSI and do the conversion. Messy and time consuming but quite possible....

I am personally looking for a few of the beta versions of some Advent and Vasari ships if you have them, like the ones on Ironclad's website of the original themes of those races.  I can post screen shots if you need them.

  Actually you know, it would be cool to have a "Golden Age" Sins Mod, with all the old models.    i suppose it would just be a matter of loading the old beta in another folder/drive and firing up the exe.    haha.

Anyone have the beta i could get a copy of? I have 1.13 and Entrenchment beta 2.5 now, but it would be fun, just for nostalgia. (even though i wasnt there when it started, it would be cool to play with the old models).

Dude there wasn't any Beta Advent ships unless I've got my facts wrong, I don't believe the Vasari changed much but if you really want like all of them I guess I could zip them up.

Best thing to do is PM me the file names you're after.
