Entrenchment Beta Planet Attributes - Resolved

I don't recall reading about any planned change to planet exploration in Entrenchment, so figured I'd post something odd I'm seeing a few minutes into play.  Both an ice planet and an asteroid have fully revealed benefits and disadvantages such as Porous Core, Industrial Wasteland, and Signal Interference.  I've sent a scout through both systems of course or else I wouldn't know about the planets at all, but don't these planetary extras usually require resources spent on exploration?

At least the Porous Core (or anything else that affects grav.well size) doesn't need to be explored. Some clever guy in the your scout vessel calculates that upon entering the system!

Signal Interference sounds like one of those bonuses that shouldn't be revealed by a scout, only through exploring.

I'm not so sure about Industrial Wastelan, might be visible from space ;P

Eh, a scout could detect ambient radio waves that were strong enough to disrupt communications.  If you're wondering what both new abilities do:

Industrial Wasteland hampers culture spread but increases both metal and crystal extraction.  Signal Interference is just negative as it further slows culture spread.  Now, that could be very useful defensively in some cases I'm sure.

As a design decision we chose to make all 'bonuses' that had significant negative effects revealed by default, so players aren't spending resources to be penalized when the bonus the search revealed turns out to be harmful. It's already enough of a gamble to search for bonuses and risk not finding any.

 

We also made all gravity well radius altering bonuses revealed by default so that all players are equally affected by them. This is easily plausible from an in game perspective since all ships would have sensor systems for detecting a stellar body's gravitational pull, given that it is the main factor in determining phase jump exit distances.
