The first dump here occured while I was playing a game as TEC.  I hadn't gotten much farther than sending out a few scout ships and looking at the new technologies when it happened.  The second happened while I was trying to change the colors for a computer player.  The only commonality I can see is that both happened after about ~10 minutes of gameplay.

Oh, and the TEC minefield tech seems to have a missing string.

Yeah, same problem here. 3x while playing TEC, one time with Advent, timing of the crash is also pretty much the same.

:-(

First I thought it might be autosave, so I disabled it, but to no awail.

Can you check to see that it was installed in the correct folder? There's an issue where the Impulse default install folder can differ from where Sins was first installed, so something might have gotten messed up. The missing string is what makes me think this is the case, since there shouldn't be any..

I manually changed it to where Sins was installed, no problems or error messages during install.

But still: Even the 10 minutes I was able to play it was awesome! The briefing on the loading screen is cute!

Yarlen posted this in another thread:

Greetings all - There was something misconfigured on the server which was causing some Entrenchment installs to not work.  If you fall into this category (and I imagine you know who you are) please do the following:

1) In Impulse click the Stardock logo (orb) in the upper-left and select Check for Updates (or restart Impulse).

2) Install Entrenchment normally. If you have an install in progress and don't want to take any changes, Cancel it and start over.

My apologies for the issues.

I honestly don't know if the wrong folder was the only thing that went wrong or if there's something else, but at this point since it sounds like SD fixed it on their end, a clean re-install would not hurt? Might be worth a try.

OK, I'll try that. And also spam them with 4MB minidump emails, hehe!

Oh speaking of, zip them up or rar them or something, they compress very nicely :P

I just uninstalled and re-installed both Sins and Entrenchment, and I got the same problem as before...and it wasn't the TEC minefield; it must have been one of the others.

I am running into the same problem... I have uninstalled/reinstalled and restarted my PC, to no avail. I didn't have any trouble with the original Sins. The issue appears to be present regardless of which race played, and is right at about the 10 minute mark as previously posted.

Just to be sure: were are u  all from ?

Did you (and everyone who was playing) upgrade to 1.12 before getting Entrenchment?

I was playing by myself, and I'm pretty sure that I did...I'll try re-installing once more.

as i completly reinstalled Sins (have made a new download) i think Impulse installs the most recend version.

And i am 100% sure that i had V1.12 before the reinstallation. I updated Sins one day before...

I can confirm I was on 1.12 prior to installing Entrenchment as well. after my previous post I uninstalled again, deleted the program directory, restarted, and completely reinstalled with the same results...

Okay. Found my Bug.

I had installed Ati Driver 8.12 (but i did not see that i had the betadriver installed). It seems that the game run after a new installation of 8.12 driver

Maybe all people with ati and GTA4 have this problem :)

I'm having the same problem as the other posters.  I get just a few minutes into the game and I get a minidump.  I definitely had v1.12 before I installed the entrenchment beta. E-mails containing minidumps and descriptions on your way in a few seconds.

I did have Sins 1.12 installed.  My system specs are:

Windows XP SP3

Dual 1.73 GHz processors, 2 GB RAM

Intel 945 graphics chipset (with the latest driver)

Yeah, the Intel chipset is sucky, but it's always run vanilla Sins fine, although I haven't played much during the past couple updates...
