The splash screen said that this is just a prt of what is coming, is that still accurate devs? If so, wow.. Even if not, kudos. I'm loving these starbases and turret upgrades as TEC. I've not seen the stuff for the other races yet. I can't wait! Thanks Ironclad, and thanks Stardock. 
Just wait till you see a planet with around 1000 mines.............
I just hope that message means that there will be some better way to clear them or a limit to how many you can make. Other than that the bases are awesome an the ai is really improved in most ways.
How do you clean up the mines? Are there minesweepers in the expansion?
Scouts let you see them, I believe (I still haven't ogtten a chance to play yet)
Many people are getting a crash bug or something. I seem to be imune to it but if I play a game to a certain point the game will crash because of the mass amount of mines. Scouts dont shoot them by themselves so you must target for them or bring along some strikecraft which take 10 seconds to make a run at every mine. If you control the gravwell then turrets seem to work best but ive spent half an hour trying to clean up one planet I had captured and gave up finally as I had only destroyed a few hundred and half my fleet was dead from little mistakes like trying to chase a scout or something..........
The game needs a minesweeper class to get rid of them or let the scouts permanently disable the mines cloaks. Or just limit each well to 100 or so.
you're right about the mines, I have made a post about this in the ENTRENCHMENT BETA 1.1 (thoughts and balance by KRUNK) and it includes some current, and hopefully future ways to use mines that should make them more fun
