Grouped phase jump not working correctly because of ship lineup

Hi there,

first post but since I am playing beta sins I thought I add something. On several occasions I noticed that grouped phase jumping is not working as intended. It happens when a fleet forms a line to cross the gravity well only the first ship manages to jump away, the others cannot open the jump portal beacuse the first ship is in the way. They then abort the jumping process and issue move orders.

It happened to a small fleet with 4 Krosovs but also to a fleet where a single Akkan BC jumped into an enemy grav well alone 8(|

I thought I had taken some screenies of this, but unfortunately I cannot find them anymore

I hope the description helps a bit. Overall a very nice expansion for defensively playing spacecowboys like me :)

This has also happened to me during my first game of Entrenchment.  Also, sometimes they don't even bother to form up at the gravity well.  I had a group of LRMs, LFs, and a capship grouped to jump, and only the capital ship moved towards the edge of the gravity well.

I've noticed this as well. For me it is trying to jump a fleet containing a capital and some frigates. If the Cap is the highlighted leader of the fleet, it will be the only one to heed the jump order. If I switch the highlight to one of the frigates then they will all jump as should be. This has been consistent for me so far through two of the races.

I have noticed that occasionally when moving across several system, a capital led fleet with group move orders will start ignoring the group and jumping at well, becoming strewn across the path. I havent seen up close exactly what they are doing, just that i'll look back and all my ships are all over the place

Yes.... This is very annoying bug.

I've had exactly the same problem.  My frigates like to ignore group jump orders, rebellious little scamps that they are.

Incidentally, for some reason double-clicking a ship doesn't select all ships of that type in the gravity well.  Call me crazy, but I swear that it used to.  Maybe it just got unbound somehow?  Or maybe this is a bug.  Or, well, maybe I'm just mixing up my games.

To select all ships of a specific type, hold down the alt key and left click on one unit.

Yeah, I know that works, it's just that I thought the other way worked also.

I can confirm exactly this behaviour.

If anyone has a replay showing this, send it to [email protected] and include the time index/where they should be looking.

Better yet, if you can set it up as a save game so on load they can easily reproduce it, that would be better than a replay (but obviously hard to set up :P).

I have a replay and will send it to them. Thanks for the advice.

On a similar note,
I sent support a save from v1.12 (right before I downloaded entrenchment) where a fleet was lining up to jump and actually took 30-40 minutes driving to the planet they were ordered to at gravity well speed lining up to jump the whole way.

While they were 1/2 way there a scout landed in their starting planet and the strikecraft launched to defend. Even though they were over halfway to their destination they thought they were still in the starting gravity well. I've received the auto response from support but nothing else yet...

They may not respond unless they need a followup, but they most certainly look at all of these things :)

That sounds exactly as I have seen it. And it also looks like an 1.12 bug, although I did not play 1.12 long enough to witness this.
