Entrenchment Hotfix Change Log

The Sins of a Solar Empire - Entrenchement Hotfix is now available for update via Impulse (it'll show as v0.91). This update includes the following changes:

  • Fixed Argonev's Resupply ability's level 2 values
  • Fixed missing String in Gravity Mine research description
  • Fixed crash bug caused by managing squadrons when your selection contains both cruisers and capital ships and you have at least one squadron of homing mines allocated.
  • Scuttle and salvage value of TEC space mines is now the per mine value, rather than for the entire mine cluster
  • TEC Hangar Flak Turret research now has 1 level of upgrades instead of 2
  • Fixed bug that caused structures with research prerequisites to allow their construction to progress even if the research was only queued but not complete.
  • Each race's mine's ability that causes them to be phased out and invulnerable now has a unique icon.

Cool will help but having tested out mines their is a huge balance to do on them. With Vasary i just coloed a lvl5 cap ship with one mine layer. Was absolutely ridiculas. It wasn<T even funny i just couldnt even belive i was able to do that. I would start by reducing the damage that all mines do, advent being the weakestand tec being the strongest.

eh-em.  Vasari should be the strongest.  they are, after all, the warfare race (kinda-they are actually the phase race, but their ships are in general more powerful, tho more expensive).  TEC is economy race, advent is culture, so the advent being lowest sounds right, but TEC would not have the highest damage value.  the whole "millenia of peace" thing kinda deadens the warfare technology they had, and the Vasari would definitely have mine experience (trying to halt/slow the unknown threat) and the TEC would never have had any reason to develop mines.

Mines are extremely easy to counter with a couple of scouts in your fleet... But i still agree that they are a bit rough, especially considering how many can end up in 1 gravity well.

Amazingly quick...glad i bought this game.

 

Is anyone dissapointed at the range of the TEC starbase? I gave it level 2 weapons (or missles) and completely upgraded the range of the missles and the other weapons still fire before they do...in fact I have only see them fire once even when the starbase was surrounded by the enemy. The time i did see them fire sins crashed. I know its not my rig, i have plenty of power, has anyone else noticed this?

Oh good they did not fix the Kol guas rail gun ablility "Firing the shell.....huh what the #$@!.......we just launched a asteroid.

Ideed how ev er since TEC mine can only be deployed in system you own by buuilded them and payign for them. For them not being able to be use offensively, For Vasari being able to pop out lots of mine for free TEC mines need to be the strengest. ITs a balance and not sotry and feel decision.

Unfortunately, colony caps still try to autocolonize even when the option is turned off, and the ten-minutedump is still happening...

 

I like the idea of what's going on with Entrenchment, but I wish I could actually experience it :(

The mine "issue" is really annoying me and should be at the top of the list I already pmed Craig Fraser about it but I do not know if it has already been reported before I did.

 

That "issue"  is vague for a reason...(BTW that means check the pms)

  Why with Vasari are you even gonna bother Mining an area?  The best use of a Ruiner is run it with a fleet and wait for the Subjugators to freeze the enemy fleet.  Then when that happens you mine the area around  them so when the stun wears off they are annihilated once they move.....

 

  Outside of that mining areas is a long process that takes to long.

WEll as of the hot fix Starbase weapons no longer come online when you upgrade them. They remain with their default first tier guns.

They never lose their earlier guns.  They fire all active weapons batteries.

Please try to post the same bugs just once, unless you are able to provide more information. Constant posting of the same issue when nothing has changed slows us down quite a bit. Thanks :)

Okay on the other higer tier guns not working it appears it is caused and fixed randomly by save games. Or Rather loading the game.

 

Sorry trying to clarafy. As much as possible.

Also my tec starbase seems to be using all its guns now and targeting more then one ship when possible. So that bug is fixed.

I had a BSoD but I think it was video driver related given the nvXX.dll showed on the bottom of the screen during the system memory dumb. x_x

fix the Asteroid-gun next ;D i suddenly play tec alot again..  guess nothing beats shooting with space-rocks.. and i hated  TEC - .-

thanks guys quick work. however i have one sudjestion. the mines should not auto pin. it drives me nuts when there are to many and i have all my pins for one planet shooting out into the middle of the screen. anyway thats all for now.

Great work to get a patch out so quickly, can you please note in the log as to whether saved games will still work? (with previous version)

In case I have a great game going I may wish to wait to finish before patching if it will cause problems with the save.
