Quick question about Starbase weapons FX

It is just me or do I feel that only the TEC Starbase looks and feels like a fortress in the stars?  While the TEC base looks/feels cool with all those heavy laser battery firing the Advent and Vasari bases, fully upgraded, feels really cheap?  For example the Advent starbase 1st weapon upgrade doesn't even seem to add anything effect wise while the 2nd upgrade just add this 2 weird white projectile that just doesn't look cool?  XD Are you guys gonna update the weapons FX on them?

Hmm..this sounds fishy. There shouldnt be anything white. Well, this is what Beta is for :)  The best thing you can do is post or email a screenshot so we can see what you mean.  Thanks :)

I think the Vasari base looks AWESOME, and I love the way it fires. Who can complain about giant purple lightning? And the ripple effect of the firing phase missiles is awesome! Pure gold.

I need to mess with this more, personally, so I don't know for sure, but it seems from other reports that there's a problem with the Advent weapon upgrades working/showing properly. Maybe they look cooler when everything works. ^_^

On a side note, after I reloaded a saved game, once, my Vasari base stopped using it's two weapon upgrades. I saw little purple balls, but no lightning and no missiles

The green glow in the hole a the top had moved to one of the arms, too, but that's just a graphic glitch, while the weapons weren't just invisible, they were gone, because the base took forever to kill the smallest thing.

what i saw when i attacked the vasari base is that it always fires ahead or behind of the actual target, and the projectiles look like they've missed, but the explosions and damage register on your spaceship. it looks really bad i think

and on another side note, ive only used the tec starbase so far, but i can already see things that are bad about it - it is underpowered (where are the laser batteries that we saw in the entrenchment videos on the tec starbase) and they are easy to avoid - entrenchment does little to stop fleets going straight past a gravity well into the core worlds.

This happens for moving targets. Not exclusive to the Vasari base either, my Advent one did it too and I think ships in general tend to do that as well, you just notice it a bit less :P

Additionally after playing the Tec side for quite some time i've begun to wonder if the pulsing graphic on the top of the argonev base is only supposed to be there when the shipbuilding upgrade has been purchased.   I mean the starbase looks fine without it and having it there to indicate that the shipbuilding upgrade has been completed would be nice to be able to tell what functions a starbase has.  I build colony pods on the vasari base but i never saw any visual change.

I think it would be nice to be able to visually determine which upgrades each starbase has completed a bit more clearly.   I haven't seen any change on the vasari or the advent bases.  For the tec i can obviously see the trade docking ports and the missles & beam emitters.

Sometimes i don't see the purple ribbons from the vasari starbase.

The laser battery on the TEC bases works fine.  I think it's just the range is too short like all the SBs in the game atm.  Also that only I think 1 out of the 2 weapons upgrade shows up with a graphic on the SB.  You can't really tell the TEC base have gotten the rocket upgrade but you can see the laser cannon upgrade.  I will try to get the a pic of the Advent base shooting the white projectile/ribbon when I have the time but I'm pretty sure the 2nd Advent upgrade is broken atm.

Yeah there are rockets on it.  you can see it.  They aren't in the same place as they are in the pre-release screenshots...they are there though. look harder...they are on the top corners running from top to bottom in a staggered formation

We think the effect on that moves on the arm may have something to do with reloading a game. Is this case for those you that are seeing this?

I got that problem, too, although it didn't happen after I loaded a game. It was a saved game, but the problem didn't happen for a while after I loaded it. I built a star base in an enemy gravity well and upgraded all of its armor, then its weapons. The weapons worked fine, and then I added another upgrade (think it was the phase stabablizer) and the upgraded weapons dissappeared.

I've been doing some research about the moving glowing thing on the TEC starbase. I haven't tested the Vasari one yet, but I would imagine that its similar. Here's the link to the post with my findings: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/333189 And so far all the times I've seen it, it is a reloaded game.
