Disadvantage of Impulse

with Non-English SoaSE version

i just downloaded the patch 1.12 for SoaSE via Impulse. But there was/is one problem with Impulse which is for me a disadvantage of Impulse. After i had installed Impulse i used the Update Tab to download the actual patch. Unfortunately i have the german version of SoaSE and the downloaded patch was the english version. After install of the patch i had in the Start menu only "String not found". I didn't go deeper into SoaSE i just left the game there. Fortunately there was a german.str from a german SoaSE fansite, so now i have again all strings.

Perhaps i was to fast and there's a way to download the german patch. But as far as i know the official german patch for SoaSE can be downloaded via Impulse. It would be nice for the future if Impulse checks the language of the game before the update, so that it than can use the right patch.

ironclad/stardok was not supposed to update the non english versions. But apperently some newb company skiped on their deal so they are picking up the slack, be patient, the translated versions are comming afaik

Yes but it is communicated from several sources/websites that the german patch is ready and can be downloaded. Perhaps Ironclad/Stardock is not supposed to update the non english versions but it is still their game and in the future there will hopefully more Ironclad games, which should be not only in English. For me personally the english version would have been no problem but i did not know that it will be a problem with the patches so i bought the german version. Nevertheless should Impulse be updated so that it can support the non english versions too. On the other side with only an exe file as patch it would be easier, so thats what i mean with a disadvantage of Impulse.

@Ironclad:

Please think about how to support mulit language versions in the future. I don't expect that it will happen over tonight but in my opinion it will be also a benefit for Ironclad as well as for your customers.
