how to fix mines

1. Make scouts detection range wide (try double 4000 vs 8000)

2. Tec Mine. Cost should be cheaper because they cant be used to as an offensive weapon unlike the other two races mine. Also mines should be allowed to exipre.

3. Advent mines: limited to how many mines are deployed base on how many slots a carrier selects to make mines

and or

if devs wants mines to be unlimited then do a time limit of long these mines can exist because they are free

4. Vas Mines: As with advent they are free so they should have a time limit like 5 mins.

2) Agree.  Compared to the othe 2 races its quite expensive.

3) I think they should all have a limit either setup before the game (game creator chooses a number) or just a hard number so the computer cant go crazy and build thousands of mines in one planet. 

4) I dont really think there should be a time limit because there would be to much babysitting on them and it would be very annoying to see a fleet warp in and all your mines have expired because you forget about them.  I think having a hard number in the small hundreds would do the trick to not make it get out of hand.

Completely agree.  I just played TEC and felt they got the shaft with the mines.  I also think that if a scout is there, the vulnerable time should be longer for mines.  Right now, it's so short that most units (including strikecraft) don't target them because the phase in and out so much.

i was thinking that the other 2 should be brought inline with cost of the TEC.

 

Having no cost attached is stupid and bad for orverall balance.

More flexible? o_O   TEC mines are the only ones that are limited to your own worlds.  They sound pretty inflexible if you ask me.

Pretty sure he's talkin about the 2 "other" mines.

I always feel that if their mines (Advent and Vasari) are going to be so hugely flexible as they are, they should cost more then the TEC mines, or if they'd rather have em not cost anything, aside from the ship to lay em cost, then they need some kind of limitations.
