Starbases and UI

I've played a couple games of Entrenchment so far, and am having a good time.  Yes, mines are overpowered, and yes starbases need to be beefed up a bit.  But one issue I've not seen mentioned yet: the interface around starbases could be better.

Specifically: As it stands, when I build a starbase with factories, I have to select the starbase when I wish to actually use the factories.  Usually I first have to find the planet, the starbase is around and _then_ find the starbase itself.  And if I've got a second factory in orbit, I have to select that separately either as the factory, or around the planet.

Same thing with squads of strike craft.  I can’t queue up the squads until after the corresponding starbase module is completed.  Additionally, I’ve got to build the squads from—again—within the starbase.

It would be must simpler if starbase improvements were handled the way all similar orbital structures were handled.  The UI for building units and managing squads is one of the foundational strengths of the game.  Bringing the starbases in line with that UI would add a lot of strength.

I agree, the starbase should be "integrated" to the planet it is orbiting. A simple solution would be to add "Select Starbase" button to the planet UI.

Currently, it seems, starbases are considered as ships, making the game treat them as orbital structures or planet upgrades would allow controlling them from the planet UI, but this might not work for vasari, since their starbases are essentially ships.

BTW, i finshed a large game last night, and spotting an enemy starbase made me go "Cool explosion coming!", not "better plan this carefully". Out the dozen starbases i destroyed, only a few were upgraded.

probably becuase upgrading them now doesnt do much usefull anyways,  your better of investing in ships til they fix it

i agree.. starbases should be part of the planet its stationed on, Vasari starbase brings some problems becuase it's moveable..  personally i think it should be stationary just like any other starbase, only with an added module that allows it to move, then phase jump to locations having a phase stabilizer (as long as theirs a phase stabilizer on the planet its moving from aswell)

with some extra rules concerning phase jump charge-rate phase jump speed etc.etc
