mines trigger mini dump

right the scenario is simple, one of my colonies was attacked by a small fleet, i sent my fleet in and drove them back out and to make sure they didnt regroup i chased them to the next grav well and to the next which leads to one of their colonies, fleet legs it, i notice a group of mines (without a scout present in the fleet :S) and engage the mine to get it outa the way. Next thing i know the game crashes and has a mini dump

ive tried repeating several times and everytime i engage the mines the game crashes and goes to mini dump, never with anything else, if i leave the mines well alone the games fine but soon as i engage the mines BOOM it crashes :S

has anyone else had this problem?

No, but you should send the minidump file to [email protected] and describe how they can reproduce it :)

I haven't actually tried attacking mines without a scout present :P

I've had this problem and I do suspect that it's the thousands of mines laid by the AI.  It slowly puts too much demands on even the best systems.  The frustrating part is that it takes hours of play to get there, but there is no stopping it.

The same thing happens on Supreme Commander when there are too many units.

nope that wouldnt likely be it this was only about 40 minutes into the game i think and i'd only explored like 8 grav wells

I've had a couple of mds when as TEC I was hunting down mines. Before entrechment I never had any issues with sins, in fact sins was so stable that I never saved a game in progress I just knew I would have no errors.

well it is only in beta ,,,, there are bound to be bugs in entrenchment so why did you dwnload it if you going to tell us all how gd sins was without it? :s

Got the same problem. Attacked a mine and game crashed.

Some people have had crashes with the regular sins. That was never the case for me, I was stating that whatever is causing the crashes is Entrechment related and there for since its beta it's something else they have to look into.
