Got Sins from a store, can't register the key

asks for an email?

I've tried the email my account is under, ive tried my other emails, nothing works. It wants me to use the email i purhcased the game on but it came from a store. i am quite confused.

 

Edit: I should make clear it says my email or serial is inncorect. The serial is right, so it msut be the email, but I purchased it at a store so how can I have the email i purchased it with?

The serial key is case-sensitive-make-sure-those little stripey things ( - ) are in there :dur: -----

Please send an e-mail to [email protected] with all your relevant information.

What's a typical ETA on a response from Stardock? I figured I wouldn't get a response on Sunday, but I haven't seen one yet today, either.

Mine is not working either!!!

 

I think someone else is using our serial numbers,

Someone who works in the store has used it or someone bought the game tried it and brought it back to the store for a refund, and the store has just put it back on the shelves.

 

Ive email the helpdesk, looks like ill be playing eve instead tonight!!!

The office was closed over the holidays. Normal operations resumed yesterday and they are working through the queue now.

For me: It's not rejecting anything...except a connection...i try to register inside the game, and i get a message saying i was disconnected from ironclad

ICO account creation is only for multiplayer, and will not register the game to your Impulse account. If you're getting disconnected from ICO, then either you're not updated to the latest version (and need to get registered in Impulse to get the update before venturing to ICO) or you need to allow it through your firewall, if any.

Well i received my reply (below), since this is my first time logging in i guess the store i bought it from gave me a used copy sold as a new. Either that or (i believe) this game is a viable target for key generators and some scabby git has registered mine before me. To anyone having the same problem, I wouldn't bother sending the support email. Go have it out with the shop, (which i will be doing) or pay the $20 for a new code.

 

 

Sorry but the serial number you have provided is already in use on another account. Usually, this
occurs if you have already registered under another email address.

If this is your first time registering Sins of a Solar Empire, you have purchased a used copy.
Please be aware that per our end user license agreement, licenses cannot be transferred once sold.

That said, there are some options.

1. The Sins CD's do not have any copy protection. You may
install and play the retail version of the game.

2. The up to the 1.3 update you can get through installing and hitting the update button on the game.
After that the updates include content and registration is required.

3. You may purchase a new license key from Stardock at a $20
discount from the MSRP:

SD is pretty good with the keygen issue, so I doubt it's that. It's far more likely that the store re-sold you a copy that's been returned :( In which case you should definitely take it up with them..

But yes, there's not much support can do in this case unfortunately. Hope you don't give up on the game, though.. it's too awesome to pass up for registration issues :pout:

Took my game back to the shop who happily exchanged it for another version, which serial works fine :)
